Councilman Haidar Awad recognized the winners of the 2019 Anti-Bullying Art Contest.
The Anti-Bullying Art Contest winners were recognized on November 13, 2019 in the City Council Chambers. All students in the Hawthorne High School District from grades 6th through 12th were invited to enter the contest.
Each student was challenged to develop a visual image or spoken word that best represents Friendship, Compassion, Kindness and Respect.
Councilmember Awad was joined by Sonya Smith, Director of Pupil Services at the Hawthorne School District and Elena Meloni, Executive Director of the New Star Family Justice Center.
