HOUSING
INVESTING IN COMMUNITY SAFETY & QUALITY OF LIFE
Continuing the Expansion & Development of Affordable Housing
Creating affordable housing for families and individuals in need is central to Haidar’s campaign and is a mission that is close to his heart. In addition to the Veterans’ Housing Project, due to Haidar’s ongoing efforts and outreach, a 120-unit complex called Anchor Place has agreed to set aside 45 units to house low-income families.
Anchor Place will provide a safe and stable environment for families to flourish and get ahead in life. Not only will it positively impact the adults and allow them to successfully secure work and raise their families, but the children will benefit from having a safe space to concentrate on their school work so they can thrive and one day give back to their communities.
The Veterans’ Housing Project is another huge success. This project includes wrap-around services to help residents with employment, education, and health issues. This initiative has received praise from local leaders including Tess Banko, Executive Director of UCLA/VA Veteran Family Wellness Center and a member of Awad’s Veteran Housing Working Group.
Haidar is committed to continuing the expansion and development of affordable housing for families and veterans in need so that they are able to rise above adversity. Anchor Place and the Veterans’ Housing Project are just the beginning of a much larger plan to expand affordable housing in an effort to boost community morale and contribute to the advancement of the entire City of Hawthorne.
